I swear by this city, Makkah 2And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city 3And [by] the father and that which was born [of him] 4We have certainly created man into hardship 5Does he think that never will anyone overcome him 6He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance 7Does he think that no one has seen him 8Have We not made for him two eyes 9And a tongue and two lips 10And have shown him the two ways 11But he has not broken through the difficult passThe Reversal of King… 12And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass 13It is the freeing of a slave 14Or feeding on a day of severe hunger 15An orphan of near relationship 16Or a needy person in misery 17And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion 18Those are the companions of the right 19But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left 20Over them will be fire closed in

    1لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ 2وَأَنتَ حِلُّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدِ 3وَوَالِدٖ وَمَا وَلَدَ 4لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ فِي كَبَدٍ 5أَيَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ أَحَدٞ 6يَقُولُ أَهۡلَكۡتُ مَالٗا لُّبَدًا 7أَيَحۡسَبُ أَن لَّمۡ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ 8أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عَيۡنَيۡنِ 9وَلِسَانٗا وَشَفَتَيۡنِ 10وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجۡدَيۡنِ 11فَلَا ٱقۡتَحَمَ ٱلۡعَقَبَةَ 12وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ 13فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ 14أَوۡ إِطۡعَٰمٞ فِي يَوۡمٖ ذِي مَسۡغَبَةٖ 15يَتِيمٗا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍ 16أَوۡ مِسۡكِينٗا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةٖ 17ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ 18أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ 19وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمۡ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ 20عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَارٞ مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ
